Star Refrigeration designed and built Rogerstone Park’s existing refrigeration system in 1999 and extended the plant’s cooling capacity in 2005. In 2013, Star was again chosen to further extend the refrigeration capacity as part of an expansion plan at the site.

When refrigeration systems are exposed to low-ambient conditions, the condensing pressure (head pressure) will fall. If the head pressure gets too low, the metering device will not have enough pressure drop across it to operate properly.

Any time an oil pressure control shuts down a compressor, the cause of the shutdown must be identified. The tripped control is a warning of another existing problem. Simply resetting the control will not solve the problem.

As HCFC-22 is phased out and alternative refrigerants enter the market, contractor attention and manufacturer intent will steer the market toward the best remaining refrigerant options.
