In Colorado, BP has announced that it plans to invest $125,000 into a partnership with the Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to develop education and public awareness programs in the state focusing on renewable energy and energy conservation.

The company is also showcasing solar power at all of the new gas station sites it builds in Colorado. Its BP Connect stores feature connections to the Internet and solar-powered pump canopies. The BP-developed thin-film solar modules will supply enough power for 10% to 20% of each site’s energy needs.
