The next generation of R2 rolling piston rotary compressors is available. The units are designed for 13 SEER and higher residential central air conditioners. The compressors are available for use with R-22 or R-410A. The R-22 units are offered in 1-4 tons and the R-410A units are offered in 1-3 tons. A highly durable vane, coated with a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), enhances the life of the compressor mechanism. Features include a high-efficiency premium silicon steel motor, a larger accumulator to support longer line length installations, and a piston made of high-grade steel metallurgy for improved reliability. Each compressor has a high volume oil pump and larger-capacity oil reservoir for superior lubrication, according to the manufacturer. They also have an upper cylinder discharge, an enhanced fixed upper bearing, and reduced friction in the cylinder parts.
