The Heat, Air and Moisture Building Science Toolbox is a computer program designed to simplify the application of building science principles to the design of any cladding and exterior wall system. The program allows the user to determine thermal properties and temperature gradients, locate winter and summer dew point temperatures, analyze (even pinpoint) potential winter and summer wall condensation, and determine air leakage rates through openings. Also, the program lets users determine the effect of height and temperature on stack effect and fan pressurization on the building envelope, use the psychometric tool, and produce project-specific reports. In this version, the software contains weather design data for over 100 Canadian and 280 U.S. cities. The material library now has 160 generic construction materials, which can be revised to the user's specs or renamed to specific material suppliers. Each analysis can be printed out as a single page report.
