New York Schools Cut Energy Costs
November 7, 2003
Long Island's North Shore School District installed energy-saving technology in all five North Shore Central School District buildings as an effort to cut costs and save on energy consumption for the community and Nassau County. The North Shore Middle and Senior High, Sea Cliff, Glen Head, and Glenwood Landing schools plan to reduce fuel and electric consumption by 10 percent to 30 percent using Intellicon® energy-saving technology on their existing air conditioning and heating systems. The technology is designed to help in a 7 percent to 10 percent reduction of the district's electric bill, stabilize building temperatures, and help prevent overheating.
