The manufacturer's ice machines are protected by HoshiGuard antimicrobial agent. Permanently embedded in select components of the ice machine during the manufacturing process, the agent protects the inside of the ice machine as well as the scoop. HoshiGuard uses advanced antimicrobial technology to inhibit the growth of bacteria, mildew, mold, and other microorganisms that can cause odors, discoloration, and deterioration of products. This technology is U.S. FDA, NSF, EU, EFSA, and Health Canada HPFB approved.
