NEW YORK - Rheem Manufacturing Co. announced that Scott Martin has succeeded Gary Tapella as president and chief executive officer of the company. In making the announcement, Tapella said he would remain as chairman for an interim period.

Martin recently relocated to Rheem's corporate headquarters to serve as executive vice president and chief operating officer. Prior to taking this position, Martin served 10 years at the company's Water Heater Division. He became division president in 2000, following leadership positions in marketing at the water heater operation.

"I have the utmost confidence that Scott's solid leadership will result in continued advancements at Rheem to best serve our customers and ensure the continued growth and success of our company," Tapella said.
