DECATUR, Ala. - When Calhoun Community College in Decatur, Ala., scheduled a career day, the folks at the contracting company Pro-Air in Decatur had a twofold purpose for signing up for booth space.

For one, they wanted to steer more young people into the HVACR trade. But also they wanted to make sure those young people knew the value of a good education whatever their future careers may be.

The need for a good education was also stressed when it came to HVACR technology. Pro-Air deals mainly with commercial and industrial applications. Potential technicians were told of the importance of computer knowledge when working on large pieces of equipment.

Also aware of the value of promotion, a guest celebrity in the booth was Antonio Carter, a former University of Alabama football player - and a graduate of the university.
