The IR-Snif 1,2,3 (single zone) and IR-Snif MCD (multizone) models of refrigerant loss monitors are self-contained, active air-draw sampling systems. The units offer infrared-based performance capable of monitoring and responding to 22 refrigerants at concentrations as low as 10 ppm for the single-zone unit and 1 ppm for the multizone unit, says the manufacturer. The type of refrigerant the monitors detect can be changed in the field without recalibration. Models are available to accommodate sampling points located up to 250 feet (76 meters) from unit. The monitors have continuous digital display of system status.
