SoundPro DLX is a hand-held sound-level meter and frequency analyzer. Applications include confirmation of proper equipment performance and detection of undesirable changes in noise output from equipment and systems, the company says. The unit uses real-time frequency analysis to reduce testing times for octave and 1/3-octave analysis efforts by 91 percent and 97 percent, respectively, says the company. Because all spectral data is captured in real time, test results are far more reliable and accurate than traditional sound-level meters with sequential octave band analysis, claims the manufacturer. According to the manufacturer, a Sound Curve Capture utility builds libraries of "spectral footprints," allowing easy and convenient comparison of prior measurements to subsequent live measurements while in the field.
