The AVA and AVV automatic air vents have been added to the Hydronic Specialties product line. They are designed to remove accumulated air from hydronic systems. Both models are float-type automatic air vents. The air accumulated in the valve case depresses the float, which opens up the shutter mechanism and causes venting to occur, states the manufacturer. The AVA has an angled discharge and the AVV has a vertical discharge. The AVA is available in 1/8-, 1/4-, 3/8-, and 1/2-NPT sizes and the AVV air vents are available in 3/8- and 1/2-inch sizes. Isolation valves are supplied with 1/2-inch models, enabling easy servicing of the air vents without having to shut down the system, says the manufacturer.
