NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The York® brand of York International Corp.'s Unitary Products Group (UPG) began its York 2005 School Colors Tailgate Party tour Sept. 17. The new spirit caravan from York will visit 10 college football games, bringing hospitality to fans and introducing heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) contractors to York's new college logo panels.

The York Tailgating Parties include a trailer flanked by two enclosed climate-controlled tents that are set up in the fanfest tailgating areas of the 10 college football stadiums the trailer will visit this year. The trailer is equipped with a York heating and cooling system to provide comfort to football fans and HVAC contractors who visit the adjacent tents. Both tents are outfitted with sofas and chairs, flat screen televisions, video game consoles and memorabilia giveaways.

The tents also display game day rivals of the more than 45 college and university logo panels currently available on the Affinityâ„¢ series of residential air conditioners and heat pumps. York has signed agreements with the Atlanta-based Collegiate Licensing Company and the Michigan-based License Resource Group, in order to offer the logo panels that replace the standard condensing-unit panels. The plan is to have 74 major schools represented by the end of this year.

York distributors and dealers may reserve the two tents as a VIP area and invite customers to visit the tent to see the new logo panels and become more familiar with other York products and services.

"We think the York tailgating parties will tie nicely into dealer meetings and open houses, as well as other special promotions, providing a comfortable setting to entertain existing customers and introduce potential customers to York," said York brand manager Andy Fracica.
