FORT SMITH, Ark. - The Rheem Manufacturing Co. has introduced a series of 13 SEER educational pamphlets designed to help Rheem business partners and their customers better understand the transition to the new minimum efficiency standard taking effect on Jan. 23, 2006.

The five-pamphlet series, "Understanding 13-SEER" are specifically written for five distinct customer groups: HVAC contractors, homeowners, homebuilders/remodelers, commercial/small business professionals, and new homebuyers.

Each full-color pamphlet is written in a question and answer format that explains what the 13 SEER standard is and what it means. The pamphlets also include sections that discuss using the new law to its full advantage and gives links to government and industry Web sites for additional 13 SEER information.

"This informative pamphlet series makes it easy for contractors to serve their customers by offering plain-spoken explanations of the new law that help them weigh their options and decide when the time is right for them to transition to 13 SEER," said Ed Raniszeski, director of market development and communications.

"We serve contractors by listening and responding to their needs with practical products and services that make an affordable, value contribution to them and their customers. This 13 SEER pamphlet series is a good example of our approach."

So far, according to Raniszeski, Ruud and Rheem distributors have ordered and distributed more than 125,000 pamphlets. Three of the pamphlets, The Contractor Guide, The Homeowner Guide, and The Homebuilder Guide, are available free for contractors by contacting their local Rheem or Ruud distributor. Contractors can also place orders for a free set of pamphlets by visiting www.13seerpamphlets.com.
