HOUSTON - RectorSeal announced it has acquired Smoke Guard Corp. Smoke Guard manufactures a patented, code compliant smoke and draft control assembly that, when used with fire-rated elevator hoistway doors, protects the elevator shaft against vertical smoke migration.

Smoke Guard originated and continues to operate in Boise, Idaho, as a division of RectorSeal. It was incorporated in 1991 and operated as an independent company until RectorSeal purchased it in September 2004. Smoke Guard has expanded its install base to more than 12,000 units installed domestically, and more than 15,000 units installed worldwide. The company provides products through a network of distributors across the United States.
