NORWALK, Conn. - ABB received the 2003 World Excellence Award for Environmental Leadership from Ford Motor Co. in honor of ABB's "demonstrated environmental leadership and willingness to share information on emerging environmental trends and issues," the company said.

The manufacturer explained that "42 suppliers from 16 countries won Ford's highest supplier honor in various categories." They were selected from hundreds of applicants.

"When you consider that Ford has over 1,000 suppliers worldwide, this is quite an honor for ABB to be recognized for our contribution to environmental leadership," said Darryl C. Hill, ABB's safety and health advisor.
