The humidity control unit (HCU) provides the most economical way to bring make-up air into a space and control temperature and humidity simultaneously, the company states. The company's HCU removes humidity from building make-up air using a desiccant rotor. According to the company, the rotor is regenerated using recycled heat from cooling components, providing dry air to the air conditioning system. The HCU-3000 conditions up to 3,400 cfm of make-up air and can be operated in night setback recirculation mode. It recycles waste energy from cooling components to provide a cost-effective and energy-efficient way to control humidity and temperature, says the manufacturer. The system can work alone or in conjunction with existing air conditioning or energy recovery ventilator units.
