Two new digital multimeters (DMMs) feature built-in infrared thermometers. Models 450 and 470 have noncontact, infrared thermometers with a laser for finding hot spots, according to the manufacturer; the distance-to-target ratio is 8:1. Features include true RMS functions; a large, backlit display; audible and visual input warnings; and one-button laser pointer activation. Units include a test lead holder for storage, multiposition tilt stand with hanger, and a high-visibility orange protective holster, the company says. With current adapters, multiple current inputs allow measurements up to 2,000 A, the company states.
