TEMPE, Ariz. — Environmental Support Solutions (ESS) has expanded its mold awareness training program. According to ESS, the training course is designed to teach building management professionals how to establish effective mold prevention strategies.

The eight-hour Mold Awareness training course is designed to assist maintenance professionals and building and property managers to develop an active management and response program for water- and mold-related incidents. ESS also reports that the class will provide participants with information on how to employ mold prevention strategies and investigate protocols in the event that microbial contamination is suspected.

“Mold is one of the biggest environmental issues facility and property managers face today,” said Brian McFarland, IAQ program manager for ESS. “Organizations are continually held liable for the quality of the air inside their buildings and failure to respond to problems, whether actual or perceived, can be interpreted as negligence by the courts, which could bring extremely costly interruption to your business.”

Participants of the class will have the opportunity to take part in a 50-question exam in order to earn certification from the National Registry of Environmental Professionals recognizing them as Fixed Site Mold Awareness Specialists.
