The line of VB-8000 Series flanged globe valves has been expanded to include models ranging in size from 2-1/2 to 6 inches. According to the manufacturer, the addition of these models will enable users to more precisely control the flow of water or steam across a wider range of applications, while at the same time using smaller, less expensive actuators than normally required. The valves feature patented Balanced Plug technology, which greatly reduces the force required to operate and close the valve because it "slices" through the water rather than pushing against it. Balanced plug technology also provides users with 100:1 range ability so that temperature can be controlled with much greater precision and efficiency. Features include heavy-duty, spring-loaded TFE/EPDM valve packing and an ANSI IV (0.01 percent of Cv) two-way seat leakage rating. The temperature range is 20° to 281°F. Three-way versions for use in mixing or diverting applications are available.
