To meet new Department of Energy water heater specifications, the company has developed the 80G and 115G atmospheric natural gas water heaters with enhanced performance, higher delivery, and increased thermal efficiency, the company states. The water heaters deliver water for more than one hour at 90 degrees F. Their thermal efficiency is 80 percent and the Btu input is 199,000. Both models feature a White-Rodgers temperature control with combined averager, high limit, better setpoint accuracy, and internal step-down transformer, the company states. These units incorporate a bottom-mounted cool-water inlet to reduce sediment buildup on the tank bottom, says the manufacturer.
