New hot tap mechanical drilling machines are available. According to the manufacturer, with the right hole saw, the user can cut or drill holes for up to 4-inch valves in copper, steel, or plastic pipe. The DM3MECH contains the drilling machine, 7/16-inch hex arbor, 1/4-inch drill bit, seven hole saws, Allen wrench, and toolbox. The DM3MECHB is the drilling machine and case, without the hole saws or arbor. Both DM3MECH and DM3MECHB come with a heavy-duty plastic compartmental toolbox. These machines require a 1/2-inch drill motor, valves, and fittings, which are all sold separately.
