The SmartComfort™ IIS 80 gas furnaces offer energy-efficient features with an easy-to-install design, states the manufacturer. The furnaces have a rotatable sound-enhanced inducer motor. For horizontal applications, the rotatable inducer motor (sound-enhanced for quieter operation) allows venting through the top or sides for added installation flexibility in attics or crawlspaces, the company says. This furnace line features multipoise models that can be installed in upflow, downflow, horizontal left, or horizontal right configuration with no need for accessory conversion kits, the company says. Features include a two-stage burner and RPJ® III aluminized steel heat exchanger. According to the company, the furnaces are designed with extra-spacious service compartments to give technicians plenty of room to work.
