BRR Technologies LLC: Dehumidifiers
February 26, 2004
Gizmology®, a dehumidification technology, is designed to accommodate dewpoint temperatures down to 26 degrees F. According to the manufacturer, it uses highly efficient direct expansion (DX) cooling to take an airstream dewpoint down to 46 degrees. After the DX coil, there is a chilled liquid coil that lowers the dewpoint to 26 degrees. The company says once the airstream has hit this dewpoint, reheat is applied to achieve very low relative humidity numbers. These dehumidifiers can supply air as dry as 14 percent relative humidity, states the company.
