Model VSM-CA3 modulates the speed of motors in fancoil units, fan-powered VAV terminal units, fan filter units, and other air-moving devices. The controller provides modulating control of AC induction motors, in response to an analog input signal from building automation systems, thermostats, or other control devices, the manufacturer states. This unit is capable of modulating the fan motor to a speed just one-fourth the rated maximum speed, says the company. It provides continuously variable motor speed in response to 0-10 VDC or 4-20 maDC input signals. A free, four-page data sheet on the controller is available.
