The City Multi® R2 Series, a variable refrigerant flow zoning (VRFZ) system, features inverter technology, which includes a variable-speed compressor, and simultaneous cooling and heating. According to the manufacturer, the system is a fully integrated system with the company’s proprietary MELANS DDC system, which connects together the outdoor unit, the branch circuit controller, the indoor units, and the remote and central controllers. Two sizes are available: an 80,000-Btuh unit with up to 15 connectable indoor units and a 100,000-Btuh unit with up to 16 connectable indoor units. Both systems can be ducted or ductless. The R2 Series outdoor unit has a footprint of 39 inches by 33 inches. Three indoor models, a wall-mounted, a ceiling-recessed, and a concealed-ducted model, are offered.
