FALLS CHURCH, VA — The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors — National Association (PHCC) has formed a partnership with the national charity Rebuilding Together to help repair the homes of low-income homeowners around the country. Through this partnership, PHCC says that it will encourage its 3,700 members to volunteer at Rebuilding Together work sites across the country.

“Rebuilding Together is the natural extension of what we do,” said PHCC president Bill Trombley. “This is an excellent way to give back to the communities that support our members.”

John White, Rebuilding Together’s president of programs, also supports the partnership. “This is a great way for PHCC and Rebuilding Together to join forces to address our nation’s housing crisis,” he said.

Rebuilding Together’s 250,000 volunteers work in partnership with local community groups and individual and corporate sponsors to rehabilitate the homes of low-income homeowners, typically elderly and disabled residents who want to safely “age in place.”

Using donated products and services, the volunteers scrape, paint, and clean homes. They also replace windows, doors, and electrical systems, as well as installing heating and plumbing systems.
