RSES Seminar Addresses IAQ

By James J. Siegel
June 22, 2002
DES PLAINES, IL — Current issues of indoor air quality (IAQ) and how to take preventative and corrective steps to ensure clean air will be discussed in August when the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES), the Buckeye State Association, and Tecumseh Products Co. present “Indoor Air Quality: Beyond the Basics.” The seminar will take place on Aug. 24 at the Best Western Springdale Hotel and Conference Center in Cincinnati, OH.

According to RSES, attendees will learn valuable, up-to-date information that will lead to more effective diagnosis, response, and management of IAQ problems. The course will aim to help attendees identify the causes of IAQ problems, explore health and environmental issues pertaining to IAQ, and learn how servicing HVAC systems impacts IAQ.

Seminar topics to be explored include: historical perspective of IAQ; basic concepts; ventilation; HVAC system design and microbial contamination; pressurization; relative humidity and IAQ; environmental allergens; HVAC services and their impacts on IAQ; retrofitting HVAC systems; air filtration and industry standards.

Robert S. Kish, CIE, will lead the seminar. Kish has 29 years of experience in the HVAC industry and is a Certified Indoor Environmentalist, as well as a member of the IAQA Board of Directors and president of the IAQ Team LLC.

Attendees of the IAQ seminar will also have the opportunity to take the NTC and NATE certification tests.

For more information, call 847-759-4046 or go to www.rses.org (website).
