The T-Classâ„¢ TS/TPA line of air conditioners and heat pumps has added the R-410A model, joining the R-22 model. Rated up to 13.5 SEER and 8.0 HSPF, the energy-efficient design features high-efficiency scroll compressors and outdoor coils. The units are available in 3- to 5-ton sizes. Fully factory charged, the units are designed to install quickly with factory-wired control boxes and factory-tested coils. The fan motor has a fully enclosed design with a rain shield to provide protection from weather, dust, corrosion, and moisture. Features include a corrosion-resistant G-90 galvanized steel cabinet; crankcase heater, which protects the compressor against refrigerant migration that can occur during low ambient operations; and direct-drive fan, which is designed to run slower to enhance the quiet operation. On the heat pumps, the solid state defrost control monitors the condition of and clears frost buildup on the coil.
