The CTRL UL101 ultrasonic inspection kit contains an industrial-grade headset that allows the technician to hear ultrasound signals, which are translated into recognizable audible sounds, the company says. The kit comes with a handheld receiver for detecting leaks in cooling systems, steam traps, condensers, refrigeration and heating systems, vacuum systems, valves, and hoses up to 50 feet long. It can be used to monitor the condition of mechanical components, such as gears and bearings. It runs on a 9-V battery, which lasts for more than 25 hours of continual use, the company says.
