The Associated Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (PHCC) of Texas has been actively monitoring mold problems facing the heating and plumbing industries, and is helping to develop programs to aid members in dealing with this issue.

PHCC Texas has developed a Task Force on Mold Issues to develop guidelines for contractors. Two PHCC Texas contractors, Brian Bell of TD Industries and Sam Dowdy of S&D Plumbing, as well as PHCC state executive Nancy Jones have met with state officials concerning the mold issue.

According to the latest PHCC “Connection” newsletter, “The contractor’s role in dealing with mold-related issues and insurance liability increases have been discussed in the meetings.” The Task Force on Mold Issues also has begun writing its guidelines for contractors.
