Manufacturer Provides Solution to Texas School IAQ Problem
RICHARDSON, TX — Parkhill Junior High School here was having indoor air quality (IAQ) problems. “Some classrooms were freezing cold and others were hot and humid,” said a school hvac maintenance manager. But not now.
The school’s 25-year-old dehumidification units needed replacing and Lennox Industries came up with the answer — a new “L-series” unit with a Humiditrol option. The option allows the unit to provide dehumidification on demand without a call for cooling from a space thermostat.
The 47 Humiditrol units were installed in August 2001 and the school is now meeting ASHRAE standards, maintaining even temperatures, and achieving humidity removal goals.
