CHICAGO, IL — The Mechanical Contractors Association of Chicago (MCA) and Chicago’s Piping Education Council (PEC) and the Certified Welding Bureau have put together an overview for design professionals to understand technical codes and standards for welding.

The Construction Institute will host “Engineers Lunch: De-mystifying the Welding Codes,” from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20 at Harry Caray’s Restaurant in Chicago. This free seminar is designed to demonstrate the ASME and AWS welding codes and when each code should be used. The event is open to members of local chapters of the following organizations: The American Institute of Architects (AIA), the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), and the Consulting Engineers Council of Illinois (CECI). Members of the MCA of Chicago and the PEC are also eligible to attend.
