David Norris, ceo of Dean E. Norris Inc., Wichita, KS, received the SMACNA Contractor of the Year award at the organization’s annual convention in Boca Raton, FL. Norris is a former president of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association Inc. (SMACNA).

SMACA immediate past president Phil Meyers commended Norris on “working tirelessly to bring modular training programs to the industry, thus making the sheet metal industry training programs more flexible and better able to quickly fulfill SMACNA contractors’ immediate training needs.

“His philosophy is that through involvement and sharing of ideas, together labor and management can build an even stronger union training construction team.”
