A power line carrier version of the WattNode® Plus digital power meter uses LonWorks® technology. It enables real-time delivery of electric power consumption and power quality data over the existing electric power wiring inside a house or other type of building, which eliminates the need to run separate wiring to connect the electric meter to an Internet server, data acquisition system, or energy management system, the company says. Applications include energy monitoring, performance verification, and tenant submetering. The WattNode plus measures true RMS power (kW), demand (average kW), energy (kWh), and individual-phase voltage, current, power factor, reactive power and energy, and frequency.
