Manufacturers for the Week: July 2, 2001

  • York International Corp. (York, PA) announced the completion of its bank financing. The $900 million new bank financing consists of a $400 million 5-year credit agreement, a $300 million 364-day credit agreement, and a $200 million 120-day credit facility.
  • Ice-Cap, Inc. (Long Island City, NY), has appointed A.D.E. Systems, Inc. (Valley Stream, NY), as its metro New York sales representative to the new construction and retrofit markets. For more information, go to www.icecap.com (website).
  • Melcor Corporation (Trenton, NJ) has completed the first phase of its previously announced expansion of its 1040 Spruce Street facility. The expansion in Phase 1 includes a 124% increase in space dedicated to engineering and administration, and a space increase of 160% for the company’s OptoTec production area, serving the telecom and photonics markets.
  • Two Therma-Stor Dehumidifiers (Madison, WI), the Santa Fe and the Santa Fe Rx, now feature the Energy Star® label under the EPA’s new residential dehumidifier program.
  • Lennox International Inc. (Dallas, TX) has opened a new 329,000-sq-ft, state-of-the-art production facility in Orangeburg, SC. The new Allied Enterprises Inc.factory was built to keep pace with growth in the North American residential heating and cooling market and to increase its manufacturing flexibility and capacity.
  • The board of directors for Advanced Refrigeration Technologies (ART) (Indio, CA) has appointed Rick R. McEwan as president and ceo. Charles McEwan, who has served as ceo since the company’s inception, will remain chairman of the board.
  • International Comfort Products (Lewisburg, TN) has announced plans to introduce a complete line of multi-position, compact-design 90%-plus AFUE Comfortmaker Soft Sound™ gas furnaces for the 2001 heating season. For more on these new products, go to www. comfortmaker.com (website).
  • Smith Cast Iron Boilers (Westfield, MA) has unveiled an extended warranty program for its residential boiler product line.   • Steve Arnholt has joined Enalasys™ Corp. (Calexico, CA) as senior vice president of strategic alliances. Arnholt was most recently with Honeywell, which entered into a marketing and sales alliance with Enalasys earlier this year.
  • PowerCold Corporation (Cibolo, TX) has appointed Bill Bahr as quality control manager and Henry Mark as manager of product and manufacturing. Both individ-uals will work for the La Vernia, TX, facility.
  • AK Steel (Middletown, OH) has entered into a contract to acquire Alpha Tube Corporation, a manufacturer of welded steel located in Walbridge, OH.
