The S.A. Day Mfg. Co., Inc.: ALUMINUM SOLDER ROD
DAYROD 982, a flux-coated, low-melting solder rod, is designed for repairing aluminum heat exchanger components. The flux is noncorrosive, so the post-treatment of repaired items is not required. Since the product melts at a low temperature, repairs can be easily made without destroying fin areas, says the manufacturer. The rod is a zinc-aluminum (98%/2%) alloy. The rod comes in 12-in. lengths for easy handling.
