Manufacturers for the Week: 01/29/2001

  • A.O. Smith Corp. (Milwaukee, WI) reports fourth quarter earnings of $0.11 per share, in line with current estimates. Fiscal year 2000 earnings were $41.7 million, or $1.76 per share, compared with $50.3 million or $2.11 per share in 1999. Sales for the year ended Dec. 31 reached $1.2 billion, a 16% increase over 1999.
  • United Technologies Corp (Hartford, CN) reports a 20% increase in fourth-quarter earnings per share to $0.84 compared with $0.70 in 1999, excluding the restructuring charge and other actions in the prior year's quarter. Net income was $426 million, 18% above the $362 million reported in 1999 (also before prior year restructuring and other actions). Full-year 2000 diluted earnings per share increased 18% to $3.55 on net income of $1.81 billion, up from $1.53 billion in 1999. Revenues for the fourth quarter increased 4% to $6.8 billion, 7% before foreign currency translation. Full-year revenues increased 10% to $26.6 billion (an increase of 13% before foreign currency translation).
  • Pameco Corporation (Denver, CO) announces financial results for the quarter ended Nov. 30, 2000. Net sales for the quarter were $97.4 million compared to $136.0 million for the quarter ended Nov. 30, 1999. Net sales for nine months ended Nov. 30, 2000 were $364.7 million compared to $502.8 million for the comparable quarter in 1999.
  • Able Energy, Inc. (Rockaway, NJ) anticipates record sales for the fourth quarter and full year of 2000. Able expects approximate sales of $10.1million for the fourth quarter and $32 million for the year 2000, compared to $6.7 million for the fourth quarter 1999 and $19.7 million for the year 1999, an increase of 50.1% and 62.7% respectively.
  • Temtex Industries, Inc. (Dallas, TX) reports that at the three months ended Nov. 30, 2000, the Company reported a net loss of $899,000, or $0.26 per share, compared with a net loss of $420,000, or $0.12 per share, in 1999.
  • Robur Corporation (Evansville, IN) appoints Millennium Technology (Des Moines, IO) as their representative for the State of Iowa including the Rock Island area. Millennium Technology has been in business since 1997.
