(Jacksonville, FL) recently provided mechanical, piping, plumbing, and fire protection services at the completed $85 million Lafarge Gypsum Board Plant in Palatka, FL. Work on the project included fabrication and installation of 8,000 ft of compressed air piping, 5,000 ft of natural gas piping, and several thousand ft of other process piping, as well as the installation of the underground mechanical system.
Northwestern Corporation (Sioux Falls, SD), the parent company of Blue Dot Services Inc., reports net income for the first quarter 2001 of $18.4 million or $0.70 per diluted share. This compares with a net income of $16.2 million or $0.62 per diluted share in the first quarter of 2000, an increase of 13%. Revenues for the quarter were $1.5 billion, compared with $1.3 billion in the first quarter of last year. The strong performance from the company’s electric and natural gas segment was driven by increased electric wholesale activity and higher electric and natural gas retail sales as a result of cooler weather during the first quarter of 2001 as compared to the first quarter of 2000.
