NEWTON, MA — Environmental Health & Engineering (EH&E) has been selected by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to conduct a study on building-related asthma in office buildings and schools.

The goal of the project is to improve the health of workers in nonindustrial environments by conducting an intervention study, and determining whether an association exists between indoor environmental conditions and building-related asthma.

The four-and-a-half-year study will examine facilities whose inhabitants have experienced health-related problems due to environmental conditions in the New England region.
