A New Commercial VRF Platform From GE Appliances

NEW MODEL: The GE MRV-7S, part of the new GE R-32 Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) platform from GE Appliances Air & Water Solutions, is for light commercial use.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The new GE R-32 Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) heat pump platform is an expansion of the GE Appliances Air & Water Solutions commercial HVAC portfolio. It’s designed to help consulting engineers, specification representatives, and mechanical contractors simplify system design, support project execution, and specify commercial VRF systems with greater confidence, a GE Appliances press release said.
Engineers and spec reps designing commercial VRF projects must balance performance, compliance, building design, installation requirements, serviceability, and long-term owner expectations, often across projects with multiple decision-makers and evolving specifications. The GE R-32 VRF platform is built to support that process with trusted VRF technology, flexible application capabilities, and centralized technical resources, the press release said.
“This launch is an important step in how we are building GE Appliances Air & Water Solutions into a more comprehensive commercial HVAC business,” said Khalid Qirem, vice president of GE Appliances Air & Water Solutions. “As we expand our portfolio, we are focused on giving customers access to solutions that are easier to specify, easier to support and backed by the resources and expertise they expect from GE Appliances.”
The platform is supported by a dedicated VRF Resource Portal that centralizes key tools and technical documentation in one location. The portal includes submittals, product catalogs, technical diagrams, cut sheets, quick-spec guides, BIM (building information modeling) resources, and related materials designed to help representatives respond faster to design teams and support engineering decisions throughout the bidding process.
The GE R-32 VRF platform offers heat pump and heat recovery configurations, flexible capacity options, extended piping capabilities, third-party air-handling unit (AHU) integration, and wireless communication. It is designed to support challenging building layouts, retrofit applications, occupant comfort needs, and projects where architectural flexibility is important.
The GE MRV-7 system offers 6- to 20-ton single-chassis modules, with possible combinations of up to 36 tons. The GE MRV-7S system supports 3- to 5-ton heat recovery applications, including single-phase configurations for lighter commercial and flexible project requirements.
Across the platform, available features include enhanced corrosion protection, precise temperature control, advanced variable-refrigerant adjustment, quiet operation, wide operating ranges, and compatibility with multiple indoor unit options, including multi-position air handlers, cassettes, ducted units, highwalls, heat recovery, and refrigerant isolation boxes.
GE Appliances Air & Water Solutions is part of GE Appliances, a Haier company.
