IEC Debuts Modular AHU for Commercial Applications

NEW AIR-HANDLING UNIT: The AHY air-handling unit, from International Environmental Corp., has airflow capacities that range from 3,000 to 10,000 cfm.
OKLAHOMA CITY — International Environmental Corp. (IEC) has introduced the AHY air-handling unit, a modular indoor air handling solution engineered to deliver cost-effective performance and flexible configuration options for a wide range of HVAC applications.
Designed for both new construction and retrofit projects, the AHY air-handling unit features a compact modular design that adapts easily to varying jobsite conditions while providing efficient comfort cooling and heating, an IEC press release said. With airflow capacities ranging from 3,000 to 10,000 cfm and the ability to overcome up to six inches of total static pressure (TSP), the AHY is built to support demanding commercial HVAC environments, the press release said.
The AHY’s modular construction allows sections to be factory-assembled or shipped in modules for on-site assembly, providing greater installation flexibility in buildings with limited access. With a maximum module length of 33 inches, the units can be maneuvered through standard doorways, simplifying installation in tight mechanical spaces.
Built for durability and efficiency, the AHY unit features one-inch double-wall, foam-injected panels with R-6.5 thermal efficiency, along with direct-drive plenum fans with electronically commutated (EC) motors for efficient airflow.
“IEC designed the AHY air handling unit to provide engineers and contractors with a highly adaptable air-handling solution without compromising performance,” said Ben Arikpo, product manager, IEC. “Its modular flexibility, service-friendly design and robust construction make it a strong fit for modern commercial HVAC systems.”
Designed for constant volume and VAV applications, the AHY unit is well-suited for environments such as educational facilities, commercial offices, healthcare buildings, and retail spaces, the press release said.
IEC is a Climate Control Group Inc. company.
