Section 232 Tariffs Lowered for HVAC Components

President Donald Trump temporarily lowered certain tariff rates to relieve ongoing difficulties caused by tariffs on steel and aluminum. On June 1, the president signed a proclamation that adjusted Section 232 tariffs. Among those adjustments was lowering the rate for derivative products used in residential HVAC systems and components from 25% to 15%. The adjustment lasts through 2027 and could create billions in savings, according to industry association estimates.
