Owens Corning Rolls Out New Duct Liner

NEW AND IMPROVED: Owens Corning has introduced QuietR Rotary Duct Liner Next Generation, which contains no formaldehyde and a minimum of 53% recycled content.
TOLEDO, Ohio — Owens Corning is rolling out QuietR Rotary Duct Liner Next Generation to support efficient and sustainable fabrication and installation.
QuietR Rotary Duct Liner Next Generation helps fabricators and installers meet stringent specifications for creating energy-efficient building environments, a press release from Owens Corning said.
Retaining the legacy product’s ease of use and requiring no special tools, processes, or training, QuietR Rotary Duct Liner Next Generation comes equipped with significant improvements, the press release said, including:
- A formaldehyde-free binder that meets green building standards and delivers the trusted acoustic and thermal performance of the legacy QuietR duct liner. It is the only rotary duct liner manufactured with a minimum of 53% recycled content, and is certified Greenguard and Greenguard Gold by UL.
- A new veil technology that reduces tearing, contributing to efficient operations at the fabrication shop. The enhanced product is engineered to make cutting easier and faster. A pull-tab package is easy for installers to open, reducing prep time and improving stackability in warehouses.
- A formaldehyde-free formulation designed to reduce risk and support healthier shop working conditions. The updated low-dust binder technology with great cutability and handleability. Owens Corning fiberization technology produces a reliable duct liner with minimal glass shards. With moisture resistance, a biocide, and strong resistance to air erosion per UL and ASTM International testing, the product supports long-lasting IAQ performance, durability, and cleanability.
Rigorously tested by fabricators in the field, QuietR Rotary Duct Liner Next Generation has proven to perform well, the press release said. Supporting fabricators’ and contractors’ pride in their craft, it reduces sound transfer for metal ductwork and improves thermal properties, the press release said.
