Navien Expands HVAC Portfolio with Launch of NAA Variable-Capacity Air Conditioner

IRVINE, California — Navien has announced the launch of its new NAA Series air conditioner, further strengthening the company’s rapidly expanding HVAC product lineup.
The NAA Series is a variable-capacity, inverter-driven air conditioning solution designed to deliver high-efficiency cooling, simplified system design, and enhanced comfort for residential and light commercial applications. Built with contractors in mind, the NAA platform offers flexible capacity matching and streamlined model selection to support faster, more efficient installations.
At the core of the NAA Series is inverter-driven technology that continuously adjusts system output to match real-time cooling demand. Unlike traditional single-stage systems that cycle on and off, the NAA operates across a range of capacities, helping to reduce temperature swings, improve humidity control, and lower overall energy consumption. The system delivers performance up to 18 SEER2 when paired with matched components.
“The NAA Series represents Navien’s commitment to delivering high-performance HVAC solutions that are both efficient and easy to install,” said Jacob Ford, vice president of sales at Navien. “By combining variable-capacity operation with a simplified product lineup, we’re helping contractors reduce complexity while delivering superior comfort to their customers.”
Designed for versatility, the NAA Series covers applications from 1.5 to 5 tons with just two outdoor unit platforms, reducing SKU complexity and inventory requirements for distributors and contractors. The system utilizes low-GWP R-454B refrigerant, aligning with evolving environmental regulations and sustainability goals.
The NAA Series is engineered to integrate seamlessly with Navien’s broader HVAC ecosystem, including NAM cased coils, NAS air handlers, and the NPF Hydro-furnace. This compatibility enables contractors to design complete, high-efficiency systems across a range of configurations, including all-electric and gas/electric applications.
