HVAC Talkback: The R-410A Delay Debate

The ACHR NEWS
Every week, we turn the mic over to you — the pros who keep the industry running. Here’s what HVAC contractors and techs had to say on social media in our latest HVAC Talkback.
Q: Are you in favor of EPA extending the R-410A deadline, or against it?
“I think the majority of HVAC contractors would say yes.”
- @refrigerant365
“I wish the EPA would enforce the R22 laws before we move to that. Amazon sells 22 all day everyday.”
- @darrellsperspective
“Is this going to reduce the cost of equipment? If not, then it’s a waste…too little too late.”
- @tershblissett
“Hope they are making more R410 equipment. Extending the deadline is great, but if you don't have anything to put it in....”
- @garz1967
“It should be extended, I have 25+ years of HVAC experience. We do need to do the customer right.”
- @hoytic
“I think the phasing of R410A was rushed especially when R22 was phased out, if I remember correctly, in 2017. R410A equipment was introduced in 2000 if I remember correctly — why not do the same with R410A? Too fast, give the end users time to plan for equipment replacement. $$$ issue.”
- @tomasrangel7
“Bring back R22.”
- @smokey17760
