ECIA Partners With Environmental Data Platform

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — The Electronic Components Industry Association (ECIA) has added Sluicebox, which provides artificial intelligence-powered environmental data solutions, to its Service Partner Program.
Sluicebox is the industry’s first provider of Component Carbon Intelligence, a platform that empowers component manufacturers to automate product carbon footprint (PCF) reporting with accuracy, speed, and audit readiness, a press release from ECIA said.
Founded by scientists and AI engineers from NASA, Amazon, and Uber, Sluicebox offers a way to meet the demand from OEMs, distributors, and regulatory agencies for transparent carbon data, eliminating the costs and complexity associated with manual lifecycle assessments (LCAs), the press release said. The platform utilizes AI to extract, estimate, and standardize emissions data, delivering verifiable Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for different components.
“Sluicebox has pioneered the industry’s first AI-supported, engineer-developed solution for component-level carbon emissions data,” said Victor Meijers, the ECIA’s senior vice president. “Many of our members are actively developing methodologies to capture meaningful, granular data to meet customer and regulatory demands. Sluicebox’s platform offers a proven, scalable solution to accelerate those efforts.”
“We are thrilled to partner with ECIA and its members to advance sustainable electronics through our AI-driven platform,” said Elmar Kert, founder and CEO of Sluicebox. “Together, we can enable component manufacturers to achieve greater transparency, efficiency, and trust in their sustainability efforts — driving meaningful change across the industry.”
Sluicebox’s Component Carbon Intelligence platform supports comprehensive coverage for 99% of globally available electronic components, facilitates compliance with sustainability mandates, enhances stakeholder trust through verified, transparent carbon data, and accelerates sustainability initiatives with reliable emissions reporting, the press release said. ECIA members are eligible for a 10% discount for the platform.
