A.O. Smith Launches New Commercial Water Heater
NEW PRODUCT: The Cyclone FLEX high-efficiency commercial gas water heater from A.O. Smith.
ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. — Water heater manufacturer A. O. Smith has released the Cyclone FLEX high-efficiency commercial gas water heater. The Cyclone FLEX represents the latest in A. O. Smith’s line of high-efficiency gas water heaters.
The Cyclone FLEX model represents a new era in commercial water heating with over-the-air updates, new maximum vent lengths, and adaptive gas technology, called AiQ, a press release from A.O. Smith said. The new technology is an exclusive A. O. Smith feature that maximizes combustion efficiency and system reliability by identifying gas supply qualities and automatically adjusting parameters for optimal combustion control, the press release said.
“A. O. Smith is proud to introduce Cyclone FLEX featuring AiQ technology to the market,” said Matt Schulz, senior commercial product manager at A.O. Smith. “This one-of-a-kind technology allows the unit to adjust to fuel qualities as well as fuel type, improving combustion while simplifying storage and installation. The Cyclone FLEX includes more than ten enhancements to our flagship Cyclone product line. These value-added features are great for those seeking a reliable and efficient solution.”
The Cyclone FLEX is an option for both wholesale partners and end-use commercial customers and can achieve up to 98% thermal efficiency, the company said. The Cyclone FLEX available in three new input sizes within A.O. Smith’s 60-, 100-, and 119-gallon platforms.
Cyclone FLEX commercial water heaters feature a new streamlined design with a 7-inch color touch display to make using and maintaining the unit easier. They also includes integrated leak detection with optional water shutoff, which can prevent damage to the unit and its surroundings if a leak is sensed.
