These products join the York YK and YZ centrifugal chillers, which earned the world’s first ISASecure CSA certifications in 2021. The certification process was overseen by exida, a product certification and knowledge company.

But these benefits can be quickly negated if critical systems are vulnerable to cyber threats,” Joe Villani, director of software, hardware, and controls engineering at Johnson Controls, said in a press release. “Through the guidance of the International Society of Automation, we have ensured every component of these chillers is protected by global cybersecurity standards to provide our customers with the utmost peace of mind.”

Achieving ISASecure certification encompasses the product development process, embedded security capabilities, and the product’s vulnerability to cyber threats. By integrating ISASecure products into industrial applications, operators are able to reliably achieve safety compliance while spending less time and fewer resources updating equipment and software, the press release said.
