HVAC Worker Dies in Elevator Shaft Fall
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Travis Collins, a 38-year-old employee of Air Control Heating & Air Conditioning in Lexington, Kentucky, was found dead on a job site in downtown Lexington after a fall. Collins apparently fell around 15 feet down an elevator shaft. He had been working on a rooftop installation, according to multiple media reports.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has taken the helm of an investigation since it was a workplace fatality.
Air Control has established a fundraising page for his family at www.gofundme.com/travis-collins-memorial-fund. The page reports that Collins is survived by his wife and five boys ranging from 7 months to 8 years old.
