GREENVILLE, S.C. — Harper General Contractors, located in Greenville, South Carolina, received the S.C. Economic Impact Award as part of the S.C. 25 Fastest Growing Companies competition. In its 17th year, the competition recognizes the achievements of top-performing private and publicly owned companies that have contributed to the Palmetto State’s economy through exceptional increases in revenues and employment. The contest was founded as a way to honor the state’s most dynamic businesses and their contributions to our state’s economic vitality.

Harper General Contractors employees over 200 employees and does business in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia. Its average project size is between $2 million and $12 million, with capabilities for projects up to $100 million. The company lists its specialties as alternative delivery options such as Design-Build and Construction Manager at-Risk, along with BIM, maintenance/emergency response, and filter rehabilitation.

In 2018, companies were judged using a weighted calculation based on year-over-year growth in two categories: revenue and employee headcount. This calculation covered the annual periods from 2015 to 2017. Harper’s award was announced at the annual 25 Fastest Growing Companies Awards Luncheon Wednesday, Oct. 10 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
